Tarekpukat - Once Fatima bint Ubaidullah RA, Mother of Imam Shafi'i RA., Was asked by a judge to be a witness in court. He had invited a friend to come testify. On arrival at the court, the judge said, "That may testify only you, your friend should not be!"
The mother of Imam Shafi'i RA. then objected, "You can not say that! Allah says, "... If there is no (witness) two men then (be) a man and two women among the people you love from witnesses (there is) so that when one forgot it that the other can remind ... "(QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 282).
The judge was silent and acknowledge the intelligence of Shafi's mother. No wonder if his intelligence to his son's famous downhill extraordinary intelligent and broad knowledge that is difficult equaled by later generations.
Back when Fatimah containing baby Shafi, her husband, Idris RA., Died. After Ash-Shafi'i was born, the bundalah which feeds it with affection. At the age of two, small Shafi brought his mother to Makkah in order to stay with the senasab Bani Muttalib with the Prophet Muhammad.
He always encourages his son to love science. Thanks to the enthusiasm that is transmitted from mother, Shafi can memorize the Qur'an at the age of seven. Three years later, he had memorized the book Al-Muwatta 'of Imam Malik RA.
